National Day of Prayer

with 5 comments

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” – Colossians 4:2

Today is the National Day of Prayer. I invite you to spend time today praying for our community, state, and national leaders.

God has seen fit to put you and I under the authority of government, asking us only to submit to their leadership, and support them in steadfast prayer.

Let your prayers be guided by the following:

  • Thank God for the freedoms He provides to us through government.
  • Pray for the protection of the lives of our government officials.
  • Pray to encourage the marriages of those holding public office.
  • Pray that our leaders will be encouraged to worship freely.
  • Pray for our President, Senators, Congressman, and Congresswomen as they develop policies to guide this nation.
  • Pray for our Governor, State Senators, Delegates, and local leaders as they lead our state.

  1. Dale Carnegie:
Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.

  2. Dear Father,

We’re so glad that you’re in heaven, but that you also care about what happens on earth. We want your name to be revered as holy through this Day of Prayer. Your name is what matters. It’s all about you.

Please build your kingdom today. We are so looking forward to seeing you face to face one day when you return, but please, build your body – your church – more than ever right now. We just want your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Please supply us with our daily bread. Give us what we truly need so nobody can question the goodness of our Heavenly Father. Please provide the needs for the Family Policy Council of West Virgina.

Please forgive our sins and help us to be forgiving towards others. In the midst of our stand for truth, we ask you shine your grace through us as well.

Please don’t allow us to be overwhelmed with temptation. Just as you’ve delivered us from hell, we ask you to deliver us today from our habits, our hang-ups, our hopelessness.

Your kingdom, your power, and your glory is all that matters. Please let in shine in the world – let it shine in us.

    Amen.

  3. For this ministry and the leaders of our country and our churches:

“I want you to know how much I am struggling for you…and for all who have not met me personally. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and untied in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge…so that no one may deceived you by fine-sounding arguments.” Col. 2:1-4

  4. Indeed our country needs visionaries to lead us, but to truly lead us down the right path, they need to be of the correct mind and belief system, namely that of our Saviour & Lord Jesus Christ.

May we all continue to pray that our elected officials, and those whom are vying for office, would be touched by our Father to the point that they submit to His will, and lead our nation with the principles in which it was created.

  5. Pray that our govt would repent of commitingevil legislation that goes against the will of the
    people and America in general.
